I have been reading another book that is about being healthy. The book is Get Healthy by Dr. Don Colbert. Doctor Colbert is a Christian medical doctor that tells you the truth. I encourage you to read some of his books.
This book is about a 28 day complete meal plan for cleansing the body of harmful toxins that is designed to restore you to health-body, mind, and spirit.
This book also includes a partial cleanse over a 3 week period to provide liver support against the effects of toxins, and 1 week juice fast to complete the cleansing process, or the total 28 day protocol to both support the liver and detoxify the body. This book also has over 100 healthy recipes.
Here is something I just read in a organic gardening book. Although artificial fertilizers were invented 150 years ago, they did not gain widespread acceptance until the mid-1940's, in the years following World War II. For a long time, farmers were suspicious of "artificial manure", believing that only proper "muck" put "heart" into the soil. Many of the modern pesticides were developed as nerve poisons during the war years. Prior to 1950, the number of chemicals that were used by farmers against pests was surprisingly limited.
The post-war years were marked by a hug drive by the government to increase agricultural production. Most farmers jumped aboard the chemical bandwagon, spurred on by subsidies and other incentives. As a result, crop yields, aided by improvements in plant breeding, rose sharply. A small number of voices were raised in protest.
Their essential concern was that, by abandoning the use of animal manure in favor of artificial nutrients, the very health of the soil was being jeopardized. An impoverished soil, it was argued, produces unhealthy plants that undermine rather than enhance the health of people and livestock. ~Rodale's Illustrated Encyclopedia of Organic Gardening
Wow, this is something to think about. I wish the government never got involved with farming.
Dr. Colbert uses this phrase: Americans are overfed and under nourished. This is so true. That is why we choose to grow our own food.
You should watch the DVD called Food Inc. Look at this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXmF_erEv1o and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5eKYyD14d_0
Here's to good health. Cheers!
