Have you heard of Family Integrated Fellowship? Brian and I have been attending this kind of fellowship for months. We really enjoy it. We are studying the book What He Must Be If He Wants To Marry My Daughter by Voddie Baucham. Check out the book and reviews here. It is still a good book to read even if you don't have daughters. This books talks about raising your sons up in God's word so he can be the God honoring man that someones daughter is looking to marry. This is an excellent book for all parents...
I received and email yesterday and here is what it said: Many churches today have adopted the "ways of the world". One of the areas in particular is in segregation of children and adults. In public schools and organizations there are some practical purposes for this. However, many young people no longer know how to, nor desire to talk to, relate to the older, and younger people.
At home and at church, we need to come together and encourage integration beyond just our peers and foster "others" mindedness. I' m glad to see children worshiping and even hearing the message with their whole family. How beautiful it is to see young people talking to seniors and enjoying the conversation with genuine interest or seeing older kids taking time to play with younger kids. Not a common sight anymore but that does not have to be so with us.
