I 've been doing some research about homeschooling. Here are some facts, public schools started in 1870 in the US and by the early 1900's 2/3 rds of American children were still schooled at home. Christians fought against public schools because they did not want the government to school their children. Christians felt that it was their God given right to home school. This is what Adolph Hitler had to say about homeschooling in the 1930's when he made it illegal:
In 1937, the dictator said, "The Youth of today is ever the people of tomorrow. For this reason we have set before ourselves the task of inoculating our youth with the spirit of this community of the people at a very early age, at an age when human beings are still unperverted and therefore unspoiled. This Reich stands, and it is building itself up for the future, upon its youth. And this new Reich will give its youth to no one, but will itself take youth and give to youth its own education and its own upbringing."
Hitler wanted to control and indoctrinate German youth because he could have power over them. Does this sound familiar?? It cost about $600 a year to home school a child and about $7,000 a year for public school or private school. What kind of education does your child get for that cost?
We like the Charlotte Mason approach to schooling; therefor we like to keep things interesting and fun. We read a lot of classic books from the library or from our home library. Some of you already know that I love good classic books and collect them.
Has anyone tried Rosetta Stone for foreign language? We are looking to start using this program to teach our children a foreign language. I would like them to know 4 other languages before they complete high school.

We home school because we want our children to have a biblical worldview and we want the bible to be the ruler over our children not the US government. If you ever get a chance, view the DVD, " The Children of Caesar" by American Vision. This DVD will give you a better understanding of what I am trying to say.
